A robust supplier audit management process is critical to ensure supply chain readiness.

At ComplianceQuest, we recently published a Whitepaper Titled: “Supply Chain Readiness Playbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Assessing and Rebuilding your Supply Chain”. In this paper, we offered a detailed perspective of what it takes for an enterprise to automate the supply chain readiness workflow.

Here is an excerpt from the paper.

Step #3 of your Supply Chain Readiness Playbook: Initial Assessment

There are three specific features in ComplianceQuest’s Supplier Readiness app to make the assessment process seamless and automated.

  1. Supplier Interaction: Initiate the re-boarding process using the supplier interaction workflow engine to define and execute actions to re-board.
  2. Communication: With built-in email templates, each supplier will receive an invite to respond to a custom survey. The same action can also be performed from the Supplier Community Portal.
  3. Survey Response: With an intuitive survey response process, capture the required supplier readiness information through customizable surveys.

It is important to note here that phone calls and e-mail-based assessment processes will not work, simply because these are not collaborative or visible across the organization. Capturing data in the supplier readiness app ensures that the data rolls up to key stakeholders across the organization. It integrates with the rest of our QHSE, where modules like CAPA or Change Management will come in handy.

Step #4: Audit & Verification

Once the assessment is done, we’ve some understanding of which suppliers are ready. But that isn’t enough.

Are the suppliers truly ready? Are they all set in terms of the capacity, downstream supply network, and wellness of their people? What about regulatory or government restrictions because of their location? What about logistics and shipping?

Our Supplier Readiness app captures all this information through a customizable auditing checklist tool. The checklist can be modified based on the risk levels of each supplier.
